Getting the most out of online classes

Simple habits that make live online classes as effective as being in the room.

Set up for success

  • Use a laptop or desktop rather than a phone.
  • Find a quiet spot with good lighting and a stable internet connection.
  • Have a notebook, pen and calculator ready before class starts.
  • Close other tabs and put your phone in another room.

During class

  • Keep your camera on — it helps the tutor see when you're stuck.
  • Attempt every practice question, even if you're unsure.
  • Write down questions as they come up and bring them to doubt time.

After class

Do the homework within a day or two while the lesson is fresh, and rewatch the recording for any part that didn't click.
