Classes & teaching
How do online classes work?
Classes are taught live online in a virtual classroom with a maximum of 8 students. Each 2-hour session is 90 minutes of teaching plus 30 minutes of doubt time. Students join with a link from their student portal.
What does a typical session look like?
A quick warm-up and homework review, then the tutor teaches the week's topic step by step with worked examples. Students try practice questions during the lesson so the tutor can spot mistakes early. The final 30 minutes are doubt time.
What is doubt time?
The last 30 minutes of every session are reserved for students' own questions — homework, school work, or anything from the lesson. We often use small breakout rooms so every student gets individual attention.
Why small groups instead of 1-on-1?
Small groups of up to 8 give students individual attention while also letting them learn from each other's questions — at a much lower cost than private tutoring. Students who are shy in large classes often speak up more in a small group.
Do you follow the school curriculum?
Yes. VCE classes follow the current VCAA study designs, IB classes follow the IB Diploma subject guides, and Foundation classes align with the Victorian Curriculum. We aim to stay slightly ahead of school so classes reinforce, rather than repeat, what students learn at school.
Is there homework?
Yes, a short weekly set of practice questions so students keep improving between classes. Tutors review homework and parents can see completion in the parent portal.
What does my child need for online classes?
A laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space. A notebook and calculator (where relevant) help too. A tablet works, but a computer is better for longer sessions.
What happens if my child misses a class?
Sessions are recorded (with consent) and available to enrolled students in the student portal, so they can catch up. They can also bring questions to the next doubt time.
Tutors & safety
Who are the tutors?
High-achieving recent graduates with a 90+ ATAR (or equivalent IB results), a top study score in the subject they teach, and a valid Working with Children Check. They sat the same exams recently, so they know exactly what works.
How do you choose tutors?
We verify ATAR or IB results and study scores, check the Working with Children Check, interview every applicant and run a trial lesson before they teach a class.
How do you keep students safe online?
Every tutor holds a valid Working with Children Check. There is no private messaging between tutors and students, tutors never see students' contact details, class links are only visible to enrolled students, and sessions are recorded with consent. We follow a written Child Safety Policy.
Are sessions recorded?
Yes, with consent, in line with our Child Safety Policy. Recordings are available only to students enrolled in that class.
For parents
How will I know how my child is going?
The parent portal shows the class schedule, attendance, homework completion and short notes from the tutor after sessions. You can also contact us any time.
Can I talk to someone before enrolling?
Yes. Book a free 20–30 minute consultation and we'll talk through your child's goals and recommend the right class.
Which program is right for my child?
Foundation is for Years 7–10 building core skills, Selective Entry Prep is for Year 7–8 students preparing for the Victorian selective entry exam, and VCE and IB are for Years 11–12. If you're unsure, book a free consultation.
Can my child change classes?
Yes, subject to availability. Contact us and we'll help find a better time or level.
Fees & enrolment
How does payment work?
Pay monthly, or prebook 3 months and save 10%. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
Are there any sign-up fees?
No. You only pay per session, billed monthly or as a 3-month prebook.
What if a class doesn't fill?
Classes run with a minimum of 5 students. If a class doesn't reach the minimum, we'll offer another time or a refund.
What if I need to cancel?
See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
